Tropical Storm Emily continues to keep South and Central Florida guessing, as it still is projected to parallel state's east coast on Saturday, close enough to be in striking distance. For that reason, the National Hurricane Center is urging residents of South Florida to "monitor the progress of Emily." At 8 p.m., the storm was in the Caribbean about 75 miles southeast of Isla Beata, Dominican Republic, and was stationary with sustained winds of 50 mph. Emily was expected to resume moving west at 14 mph in the next several hours, then make a gradual turn to the northwest during the next day or so.
