Geologist's prophecy: Holy Land overdue for a major earthquake

Monday, November 26, 2007
TEL AVIV — Based on 400-year historical cycles a the pattern of recent tremors, the Middle East should be expecting a major earthquake in the near future, a geologist said.
A leading Israeli geologist has assessed that the Middle East, particularly, the Levant, was ripe for a major earthquake. The geologist based his forecast on seismological data as well as historical patterns.
"All of us in the region should be worried," Shmuel Marco, a geologist at Tel Aviv University, said.
Seismologists have often warned of the prospect of a major earthquake in the Middle East. The Levant has undergone a series of serious tremors on the magnitude of five on the Richter Scale, but without causing significant damage.
On Nov. 20, an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale shook Israel and Jordan. The earthquake, whose epicenter was in the area of the Dead Sea, did not cause major damage.
Marcos a member of Tel Aviv University's Department of Geophysics and Planetary Sciences, has sought to predict the next major earthquake in the Levant through historical examination. The geologist has examined ancient records from the Vatican and other religious sources in his research.
The major earthquakes in the Levant took place along the Jordan Valley. Earthquakes were reported in 31 BCE, 363 CE, 749 CE and 1033 CE.
"So roughly, we are talking about an interval of every 400 years," Marcos said. "If we follow the patterns of nature, a major quake should be expected any time because almost a whole millennium has passed since the last strong earthquake of 1033."
Based on history, Marcos predicts a major earthquake that would affect Israel, Jordan, Palestinian Authority and Syria. He said the sites important to Christianity, Islam and Judaism could be particularly vulnerable.
"I am looking for patterns and I can say that based on ancient records, the pattern in Israel around the Dead Sea region is the most disturbing to us," Marcos said. "When it strikes and it will this quake will affect Amman, Jordan as well as Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. Earthquakes don't care about religion or political boundaries."

Volcano erupts on island in Lake Nicaragua

Sunday, November 25, 2007
MANAGUA, Nicaragua (AP) The Concepcion volcano in Nicaragua sent huge columns of ash into the sky in eruptions that prompted a ripple of small earthquakes, local seismologists said Sunday.
The volcano, one of two on an island in Central America's largest lake, erupted Saturday night and related earthquakes continued to rattle the area on Sunday. No one was injured by the blast, Nicaragua's Institute of Territorial Studies said in a statement.
The 1,610-meter (5,282-foot) volcano is located 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of the capital, Managua, on an island popular with adventure tourists in Lake Nicaragua.
Ash rained down on local communities on Sunday, as strong winds carried it to toward the capital, the institute said.
The Concepcion volcano, which shares its lake island with the dormant Maderas volcano, last erupted in 2005.

Giant vault to preserve major food crops

17:55:33  20/11/2007

The Svalbard Global Seed Vault in the Arctic is well on its way to storing all known varieties of crop seeds in a bid to protect species from worldly disasters.

The construction of the vault, sponsored by the Norwegian government, promises to preserve 4.5 million seed samples at temperatures of around -18oC. The Global Diversity Trust, responsible for collecting and maintaining the samples, claims that crops at these temperatures can last for up to a 1000 years.

The vault is 1000km in length and located inside a mountain on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen. So, come rain or sunshine, asteroids or tsunamis, it looks like the giant freezer is here to serve our future dietary needs.

This is no new thing!  Scientists have been able to do this with bone marrow cells, fat cells, and yes, even skin cells for a while now. The research and procedures need to be furthered in this direction.  "They" just want an excuse to clone human embryos. They even had 'Superman', Chris Reeves, believing that harvesting cloned human embryos would one day be the key to cure his spinal cord injury.
The truth is that making stem cells from one's own body cells (rather than an embryo) would totally avoid the problems of rejection of foreign matter.  If someday you can have a heart repaired from your own stem cells, then you would not need a heart transplant and the problems of having to take immune-destroying drugs the rest of your now shortened life.

"Star Wars" show or.... Anti-christ show? I SEE LIGHTS RIGHT NOW!

Getting ready for "Star Wars" show or.... for the Anti-Christ show?
Or, would they be one and the same?
From Dr. Boylan:
On Behalf Of Kay Wilson
Sent: Sunday, November 18, 2007 4:11 PM

Subject: [UFOFacts] Light show in the sky

Below is a description of an odd light show seen in the Western Washington sky in the early morning of Friday, November 16. I am forwarding the description with the permission of my correspondent. We would be very interested to know if others have seen similar shows, and whether you can shed any "light" on the phenomenon.

Last night around 2 AM I wake up.

I sleep right next to the window looking West - North. My field of vision encompasses a large area around Polaris (north star = star that is always in the north).

Polaris is part of Ursa Minor (= known as small dipper). Ursa Major (big dipper) shows its 'pan'  in the direction of the Polaris, which is measuring off 4x the pan base in the direction of the pan baseline and, voila, there is Polaris. Earth's axis rotates around that point in space. I am writing this way so that you can find it yourself. In the field of vision are several star systems: Right top Usa Major; Bottom right Ursa Minor; Bottom but hard to see Draco, Bottom Left Cepheus and Top Camelopardalis
Between Camelopardalis and the Polaris I saw something very interesting. It was very high, and considering the fact I have often done star gazing and watched satellites flying over; it was at that height or even higher in space that I saw several small triangles moving, and I estimate about 8 or 10. They shot dark red-like laser beams to each other, and I saw clearly the point of origin of the blast and arrival. At times to each other and at times away, but most of them in the direction of 1/3 bottom Left of Camelopardalis.

The interesting part was there were no explosions, but it was like they were laying down some kind of an energy field upon which, when established, some kind of a hologram was projected and showed a picture, and each picture was rebuilt with the same laser-like beams (singular impulse). The picture that would appear was an outlining of fuzzy-like white-grey light speckles and formed: an outline of a man shooting an arrow (Hunter); then a Pegasus; then a Scorpio; and then it all was repeated again. After seeing it 3 times I closed my eyes for a few minutes thinking I must be nuts, but then after a few minutes opened them up again and the sequence was still going. All the pictures would kind of move in the direction of 1/3 bottom Left of Camelopardalis. It was like it was sucked away and thus mis-formed in a long smoky-like string and then evaporated.
All very interesting. Now I did scan with my eyes around to see if my retina was playing tricks on me, but no, because each time when I turned my eyes/head in the direction of what I saw before, I moved into position and continued to see what was shown.
I woke up this morning feeling super groggy and had a hard time to wake up. Throughout the day it felt like I was run over by a truck. On the question of how can I see this so clearly at night: I have very large windows in the bed room and I sleep on the floor right along side the window, so when I open my eyes it is like I am sleeping outside, and it is at times quite a sight and very serene, but every once and a while I witness something extraordinary such as this and many other things.
Viewpoint coordinates were lat 47o 00' N and long 123o 00' W (near Mt. Rainier).

Iran brands U.S. Dollar as 'Worthless'...

Iran leader dismisses US currency
US dollars
The value of the US dollar has fallen steadily in recent times
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has suggested an end to the trading of oil in US dollars, calling the currency "a worthless piece of paper".
The call came at the end of a rare Opec summit, and was opposed by US ally Saudi Arabia.
The Iranian president had wanted to include the attack on the dollar in the summit's closing statement.
The communique made little mention of the dollar, however, focusing instead on energy security and the environment.
The summit in Saudi Arabia was only Opec's third in 47 years.
During the talks, Opec members revealed differences about the future direction of the exporters' group.
But Opec leaders ended with a pledge to provide the world with reliable supplies of oil.
Unfair trade?
Speaking after the end of the summit, Mr Ahmadinejad said all leaders at the meeting were unhappy with recent falls in the value of the dollar.
Oil drums
Oil reached a record high of $98.62 a barrel earlier this month
The dollar has weakened considerably against the euro and other currencies in the past 12 months.
Its decline has affected the revenues of Opec members because most of them price and sell their oil exports in the US currency.
Mr Ahmadinejad said that all Opec countries had showed interest in converting their cash reserves into other currencies.
"They [the US] get our oil and give us a worthless piece of paper," he told reporters.
But Saudi officials were against including any such language in the declaration. One is reported to have warned that it could add to the pressure on the dollar.
However, in the communique Opec did make a reference to the debate, by committing itself to studying "ways and means of enhancing financial co-operation".
Iran's oil minister said that this would allow the formation of a committee to study the dollar's affect on oil prices and investigate the possibility of alternative trading currencies.
Political agenda
The summit was also marked by divisions over the role of Opec in the world oil market.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (L) with Hugo Chavez
Chavez (r) and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are staunch US critics
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and his Ecuadorean counterpart, Rafael Correa, whose country rejoined Opec at the summit, both argued for a more political agenda for the group, but ran into opposition from US ally Saudi Arabia.
King Abdullah, the head of state of the host nation, Saudi Arabia said: "Those who want Opec to take advantage of its position are forgetting that Opec has always acted moderately and wisely.
"Oil shouldn't be a tool for conflict, it should be a tool for development."
President Chavez had opened the meeting with a warning that oil prices could double if the US attacked Iran.
Oil has been hitting record peaks of well over $90 a barrel as markets believe the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries will not boost production, despite calls from oil-consuming countries such as the US to do so.
Venezuela's president said the price of crude could reach $150 or even $200 a barrel.

The greatest volcano of the world

Escrito por Comandante Norton el Viernes, 16 de Noviembre del 2007 a las 1:54 pm [18 Views]

It is neither the Fujiyama, nor krakatoa… The volcano that we spoke has a surface of 9,000 kilometers square, and it is not submerged, but on the terrestrial surface. And it is in active-duty.
The greatest volcano of the world is the Yellowstone Park.
In the 60 one knew that the Yellowstone park was a volcanic earth, but nobody had tried to find the crater. Bob Christiansen, of the Geologic Service of the United States became that same question.
We tend to think about a volcano with the classic form of cone that lodges a smoky crater, but exist another type of still more violent volcanos that when they explode open an enormous hole to their step, which denominates boiler.
At the hands of Christiansen aerial photos arrived then from the NASA in which the Yellowstone park was observed. Then it discovered something surprising: It could not find the boiler of the volcano because practically all the park, (about 9,000 square kilometers), was the boiler.
It makes a number indetermine of years, Yellowstone exploded of a as brutal form as incomparable to any thing that the human has invented, and left to its step a crater with a diameter of almost 65 kilometers in width. Too enormous to be able to observe it at first.
Yellowstone is, then, a supervolcano.
It makes 2 million years exploded of such form that ash sufficient loosen to bury the Nueva state Cork under 20 meters of ash, and the one of California up to 6 meters.
Finally one notices worrisome. The volcano of the Yellowstone park is in active-duty, as we know, and approximately undergoes a great explosion every 600,000 years, and the last one was 630.000 ago. That is to say, that is called on to him to explode now. That explosion would be equivalent to 1000 pumps of Hiroshima every second.
Taken care of to that you are going to visit not only the park, but all United States to the complete one.
If you want to know more, reads A short history of nearly everything, of Bill Bryson.

Tips from the Kitchen for Remedies, TWIUTB and oughta be again..

Hmmnn.. we might need these when teotwawki occurs. Actually, it may be more like twiutb.  Which wasn't so bad.  You, know, the "good ol' days"?

The cures in your kitchen cupboards

By ANGELA EPSTEIN - More by this author » Last updated at 09:00am on 13th November 2007 Most of us keep the bathroom cabinet stocked with remedies for common ailments - but we could just as well look in our kitchen cupboards instead. Many everyday ingredients can double as home cures for a host of complaints, from toothache to sciatica - and with no worry of side-effects. Here, Angela Epstein rounds up 25 of the best home remedies...

Camomile tea can help soothe the pain of mouth ulcers, according to London GP Dr Rob Hicks. Allow the herbal brew to cool with the tea bag in, then swill liquid around the mouth before swallowing. Do this every couple of hours. It is thought the herb contains substances that relieve inflammation.
Scroll down for more ...
Cures: The kitchen is a good source of remedies for common ailments
To relieve the pain of a urinary tract infection, such as cystitis, mix half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in an 8oz glass of water and drink, says Dr Jenni Byrom, a gynaecologist at Birmingham Women's Hospital. This changes the pH level of the acidic urine so that it will burn less when passing water. Do this once or twice a day at the first sign of infection.
Drinking a glass of homemade cranberry juice twice a day can also help, she says. Cranberry juice contains chemicals which inhibit the activity of E. coli - the bacteria most often responsible for cystitis. To make the juice, boil fresh or frozen cranberries until soft, liquidise when cool and drink a standard glass. This way you know you are getting the benefit of pure fresh fruit, unlike with a commercial drink which may be diluted and contain added sugar.

An oatmeal bath can help if you suffer from eczema or dry, itchy skin, says GP Dr Paul Griffiths of the Blemish Clinic in Manchester. This is because oats contain anti-inflammatory compounds known as avenanthramides, which also have an antipruritic (anti-itch) effect.
Fill a piece of muslin or cheesecloth with several tablespoons of oats and then let the water run through this as you fill the bath. Olive oil can also be used to relieve eczema as it contains mild antibacterial agents which may help contain skin outbreaks.

Taping the inside of the peel from an overripe banana to a verruca may help the healing process, says podiatric surgeon Michael O'Neill.
This is due to the anti-viral properties in the mucilage (the sticky substance inside the peel).
Apply the peel before you go to bed and do this every night until the verruca has gone.

A glass of tonic water before going to bed can help prevent cramp, says Dr Mike Dixon, visiting professor of integrated health and care at the University of Westminster, London. Tonic water contains naturally occurring quinine (the ingredient that gives it its bitter taste), which prevents the muscles going into spasm and causing the pain of cramp.
Keep a spoon by your bed, too. If you wake with leg cramp and this makes your leg feel hot, put the spoon on to your limb. The coolness of the metal will draw heat from the body, relieving the cramp.

The muscular pain caused by sciatica can be relieved by standing against a wall, with a potato placed strategically against the part of the buttocks where the pain originates.
"By pressing against this, the potato acts like a fulcrum on the muscles, providing a pivot over which they can stretch," says Robin Shepherd, acting chairman of the General Osteopathic Council. "This will relieve the muscular tension associated with sciatica."
The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body, running from the spinal cord and down the back of each leg.
"The potato digging into the tender muscles in the buttocks will relieve the pain running down the leg," Mr Shepherd says. For greatest relief, repeat several times every day.

Manuka honey contains a powerful antiseptic to prevent infection and can be applied in small amounts to treat cuts, grazes and blisters, says Dr Dixon. Use the lowest strength Manuka honey (basic factor 10-15).
Nutritionist Jane Clarke adds that the honey has also been shown to have strong anti-viral properties and taking a teaspoon of Manuka honey twice a day may help speed up recovery after a viral infection.

Relieve a stuffy nose, ear infection or congestion on the chest by eating something spicy such as a hot curry dish, says Dr Griffiths. This makes the nose and eyes run, loosening the mucus.
Garlic, which is often used in Indian food, helps break down mucus and is antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial and an antioxidant, so will help fight infection and boost the immune system.

Sprinkle a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in your armpits or on your feet, says GP Dr Rob Hicks. A natural antiperspirant, this reduces the amount of moisture normally produced in a day.

Cold, wet tea bags wrapped in paper towels can help soothe itchy eyes caused by a cold or hayfever, says Manchester-based GP Dr Charles Simenoff. It is thought the tannic acid in tea can help reduce the itch.
Smearing Vaseline up each nostril can also help, says Dr Dixon. The pollen catches on the sticky jelly, preventing it from travelling further up the nose and triggering an allergic reaction. Remove the Vaseline every two hours with a tissue, and then repeat the process.

Ginger can help, because compounds in the spice have anti-sickness properties.
A study involving Danish naval cadets found that taking just 1g of powdered ginger before embarkation reduced symptoms of seasickness - including dizziness - by almost 40 per cent, and slashed the frequency of vomiting by more than 70 per cent.
It's also good for morning sickness. According to Dr Hicks, pregnant women may get greater benefit from eating ginger biscuits. These have the added benefit over powdered ginger of helping to maintain blood sugar levels, and nausea is often caused by low blood sugar.

To ease the joint pains caused by arthritis, mix one dessertspoon of honey with one dessertspoon of cider vinegar and take with breakfast, says Dr Dixon. Both ingredients are natural anti-inflammatories.

Draw out the infection from a septic ingrown toe nail by making a poultice from bread mashed in milk, suggests Michael O'Neill. Apply it to the toe with cling film and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. Repeat this until the pus begins to come out. "The heat of the warmed milk widens the blood vessels and draws the infection to the surface," says Mr O'Neill.

Prevent discolouration of the teeth by having a piece of sugarless gum after drinking tea or coffee, says dentist Dr Phil Stemmer of the Teeth For Life Clinic in London. Chewing gum causes an increase in the production of saliva, which will help to wash away such liquids before they have a chance to stain your teeth.

To remove a splinter, take a piece of sticky tape, press on the area firmly and then remove by pulling from the opposite direction to the way the splinter is embedded, advises GP Rob Hicks. The splinter should come out on the tape.

At the first sign of a headache, have a cup of tea, suggests nutritionist Jane Clarke. "Headaches are caused by changes in the blood vessels: they either contract or expand. A small dose of caffeine seems to reverse these changes."

Soften ear wax by applying a few drops of olive oil into the ear four times a day, advises Dr Byrom. "This is as effective as anything you can buy over the counter for ear wax."

Take a clove of raw garlic and apply to the affected area. Active chemical compounds known as ajoenes in the garlic act as potent antifungals and may stop the growth of a range of common fungal infections, including thrush and athlete's foot.
Mr O'Neill adds that mixed to a paste and applied between the toes and on the sole, bicarbonate of soda can also help prevent athlete's foot.

Soak an infected hand or foot in diluted vinegar to get rid of unsightly warts, advises Sheffield-based GP and orthopaedic physician Dr Rav Naik. "The acid in vinegar will destroy the viral particles in the wart," he says. Soak for at least 15 minutes every day and repeat until warts clear.

You can get swift relief from toothache by dipping a cotton bud in oil of cloves and applying it directly on to the area, says dentist Dr Philip Stemmer.
Cloves have natural pain-killing properties. Indeed, doctors in Germany have recently devised a quick-acting anaesthetic based on the plant.
Be careful, though, not to leave the cotton bud on for more than a couple of minutes as it can cause irritation to the gums. You can buy oil of cloves from health food shops.

Treat a wasp sting by rubbing with a slice of onion, says Dr Simenoff. This will reduce the swelling and pain and speed up the recovery time. There are enzymes in fresh-cut onion that help break down the compounds in a sting that cause inflammation.

rolling pin
To relieve upper back pain, place a rolling pin on the floor and lie on top of it so that it is runs across the back, positioned between your shoulder blades, and forms a T-shape with your spine, says osteopath Robin Shepherd.
"By rolling the body over it up and down, this will arch the spine and so relieve the tension in the muscles which causes back pain."

Always contact your GP if the problem persists.

Star Wars Tomorrow?

A Paper by Robert C. Brand

A year or so after entering office, President Ronald Reagan announced to
the U.S. public and the world a new program which he named, Strategic
Defense Initiative. Exactly what this new program would consist of was
left unsaid except that it would provide a nuclear umbrella, which would
protect the United States from nuclear attack, by offensive weapons
directed at us through the atmosphere. Today, four years later, we find
that the U.S. government is spending large sums of money to develop this
program yet the taxpayers paying for this program still haven't been
told just what the program includes. In addition, most of the money
grants initially given for the development of lasers, etc., for the
Strategic Defense Initiative have now been cancelled meaning that they
were initially given as cover for what is really being developed.

Today we have only two descriptions of the program to give us clues. One
was when the program was announced and President Reagan state, "We
are launching an effort which holds the promise of changing the course
of human history" To build a shield over the United States to
protect it from missiles doesn't seem to be something that would
hold the promise of changing the course of human history. In addition,
it doesn't even hold the promise of protecting the United States
from attack as it would not protect against a nuclear bomb being placed
under water off the coast of the United States, for example, and
exploded with devastating effect to the United States.

Shortly after announcing the new program President Reagan invited all
the countries allied with the United States to share in and help develop
the program and it would appear that many, if not all, joined in. At the
same time it was announced that Russia was developing a "Strategic
Defense Initiative" of is own and it is probably safe to say that
many, if not all, of the countries allied with Russia would participate
in its development. It would thus appear that almost the entire world is
consuming a large amount of its material and human resources working on
an expensive, unannounced, program that is somehow connected with the
space above the world.

Our second clue as to what the program is all about came from U.S.
Senator Edward Kennedy who referred to the program as, "Star
Wars", a name that has stuck and is used almost daily, even by
government employees involved with the program.

In the year 1971 the U.S. Government received sufficient information to
develop a craft that utilizes a positive ion control unit for its
propulsion and one which would be capable of flying faster than the
generally stated velocity of light as measured on earth as well as being
capable of flying to other star systems. With the high velocity of
travel obtainable by the craft it could easily be used to defend against
enemy missiles by knocking them out before they had traveled a mile of
two from their silos. As such they could easily rightfully be referred
to as a Strategic Defense Initiative. (It could also rightfully be
referred to as a Strategic Offensive Initiative). The fact they could
travel, carrying passengers, to other star systems at velocities greater
than the velocity of light as measured on earth could be considered as
changing the course of human history

If Senator Kennedy's reference to "Star Wars" has any
validity to it, it would indicate that almost the entire world is
engaged in a massive program to build a defense system against an
invasion from outer space. The facts would indicate that maybe this is
the case as both Russia and the United States are putting satellites
into space that could direct missiles into outer space. Today we are
building missiles at a furious pace that exceed the number necessary to
fight a war on earth by a large amount.

For the past forty or so years the world has been building nuclear bombs
and now has somewhere around 200,000 of them, or much more than could
possibly be used for any purpose on earth. Is it possible that these
stockpiles of nuclear bombs are being constructed for use against an
invasion from outer space?

The positive ion control craft mentioned earlier is a unique craft
which, as we mentioned earlier, can travel faster than the velocity of
light as measure on earth, It can also be built in virtually any size or
shape (the saucer design, like the reported sightings of UFOs is
possibly the most practical for small crafts) and as such could be used
very effectively against an invasion of earth. For travel to other star
systems it could be built, for example, to carry a million or more
passengers (a city or state in itself) if so desired. Because of its ion
shield it is not only safe for passengers to travel in at these
velocities but is virtually impervious to any weapons system known to

The fuel for a positive ion control craft is radioactive sodium with a
half life long enough, at the velocities traveled, to allow it to
explore the entire known universe and return to tell us about it in our
lifetime (it would only take about two weeks to hop-skip travel to the
"edge" of the known universe as determined by our optical and
radio telescopes. Of course, navigational equipment would present a
problem). In addition, it does not leave any harmful residue to pollute
the earth, or wherever. A propulsion unit such as this could also
produce, as a prime mover, electricity at extremely low cost.

One of the problems generally considered insurmountable to space travel
in a lifetime is the time it takes to accelerate while still maintaining
a livable gravity of acceleration on a craft with humans aboard.
However, with a craft such as this the acceleration can be rapid enough
to bypass this gravity problem (more about this later)

Magnetic Anomaly Thoughts

 Magnetic Anomaly Thoughts

Maybe it is imagination, but I have the feeling that the just released magnetic anomaly map explains the mutations in yDNA. Seem the area in RED is associated with Iraq – could it be oil fields? GREEN is associated with Haplogroup J. ...

The Ring of Fire has been ringing a while now..twisting and turning..
With the Antarctic being at the bottom of the Ring,
Does this mean the Earth is being unscrewed and the bottom is falling out now?
