Japan Earthquake And Tsunami Caused By "Solar Flare"

After four years without any X-flares, the sun has produced two of the powerful blasts in less than one month: Feb. 15th and March 9th. This continues the recent trend of increasing solar activity associated with our sun's regular 11-year cycle, and confirms that Solar Cycle 24 is indeed heating up, as solar experts have expected. Solar activity will continue to increase as the solar cycle progresses toward solar maximum, expected in the 2013 time frame.

Japanese media reported at least 1,000 people are presumed dead from Friday's massive 8.9 earthquake, most drowned by Tsunami that swept across the northeast coast of the island nation.

And its not only a coincidence that it happened exactly after 24 hours Solar flare hit Earth.

According to NASA website March 9th ended with a powerful solar flare. Earth-orbiting satellites detected anX1.5-class explosion from behemoth sunspot 1166 around 2323 UT. A movie from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (above) shows a bright flash of UV radiation plus some material being hurled away from the blast site.

In addition, on March 10, 2011 around 0630 UT, a CME did strike a glaceing blow to Earth's magnetic field. This was a result of an M3 flare that occurred late on March 7, 2011.

At 2,200 km/sec, this was the fasted CME since September 2005.

What is going on with all this recent solar activity?

After four years without any X-flares, the sun has produced two of the powerful blasts in less than one month: Feb. 15th and March 9th. This continues the recent trend of increasing solar activity associated with our sun's regular 11-year cycle, and confirms that Solar Cycle 24 is indeed heating up, as solar experts have expected. Solar activity will continue to increase as the solar cycle progresses toward solar maximum, expected in the 2013 time frame.

What is a solar flare and what does X-class mean?

A solar flare is an intense burst of radiation coming from the release of magnetic energy associated with sunspots. Flares are our solar system’s largest explosive events. They are seen as bright areas on the sun and they can last from minutes to hours. We typically see a solar flare by the photons (or light) it releases, at most every wavelength of the spectrum. The primary ways we monitor flares are in x-rays and optical light. Flares are also sites where particles (electrons, protons, and heavier particles) are accelerated.

Scientists classify solar flares according to their brightness in the x-ray wavelengths. There are three categories: C, M, X, with each one representing approximately 10x more power. The number following the letter indicates another factor applied to the basic classification scheme, from 1-9. At the high end, the X class can go higher than 9 because there is no higher letter classification.

What is a coronal mass ejection (CME)?

The outer solar atmosphere, the coronal, is structured by strong magnetic fields. Where these fields are closed, often above sunspot groups, the confined solar atmosphere can suddenly and violently release bubbles of gas and magnetic fields called coronal mass ejections. A large CME can contain a billion tons of matter that can be accelerated to several million miles per hour in a spectacular explosion. Solar material streams out through the interplanetary medium, impacting any planet or spacecraft in its path. CMEs are sometimes associated with flares but can occur independently. Source : NASA

Solar Flare & Christchurch, New Zealand 6.3 earthquake February 22, 2011 :

Last month we informed our readers, solar flare storm will hit earth on February 18, 2011, which could possible cause earthquake as well. [Link]

And later on a strong 6.3-magnitude earthquake rocked the southern New Zealand city of Christchurch on February 22, 2011 and killed 400 + people and damaging buildings throughout the city. [Link]

CME/Solar flares cause Spaceqauke & Spacequake cases Earthquake :

Our February earthquake prediction was actually based on the fact that same chain of action had took place on August 3, 2010 when 6.4 Earthquake hit Papua New Guinea after an enormous magnetic filament breakingaway from the sun on august 1, 2010.

Moreover even NASA admitted on their website "spacequake can cause Northern lights and magnitude 5 or 6 earthquake".

Spacequake :
According to NASA, researchers by using NASA's fleet of five THEMIS spacecraft have discovered a form of space weather that packs the punch of an earthquake and plays a key role in sparking bright Northern Lights. They call it "the spacequake."

spacequake is a temblor in Earth's magnetic field. It is felt most strongly in Earth orbit, but is not exclusive to space. The effects can reach all the way down to the surface of Earth itself.

"Magnetic reverberations have been detected at ground stations all around the globe, much like seismic detectors measure a large earthquake," says THEMIS principal investigator Vassilis Angelopoulos of UCLA.

It's an apt analogy because "the total energy in a spacequake can rival that of a magnitude 5 or 6 earthquake," according to Evgeny Panov of the Space Research Institute in Austria. Panov is first author of a paper reporting the results in the April 2010 issue of Geophysical Research Letters (GRL).

In general, Earth's magnetic field lines can be thought of as rubber bands stretched taut by the solar wind, which is actually charged particles flowing in all directions from the sun, said study co-author Vassilis Angelopoulos, a space physicist at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Very interesting. Have any of your readers noted an increase in static electricity when touching metal objects over last week? Even when out and on ground or pavement, all things metal have been seemingly charged with electricity.

  2. Believe it or not, no joke..when my husband went to kiss me last night, a spark passed between us! It was strange, because I was wearing rubber soled shoes, and the weather was humid. Never have experienced static electricity like that!

  6. Bulgaria me to ! I kissed my girlfrient at evening also have this spark ! when i tried to turn up down volume of my stereo it has this electricity spark and all that from a week, i was wondering that i have electricity problem. Interesting is that the sparks is after i sit on my couch which is barely shown to the sun.

  8. My eyesight (sight close up) is getting worse suddenly and I've had headaches that beat all and I NEVER get headaches. Anyone else?

  9. the morning before the earthquake I awoke with an excruciating earthquake (had the same kind with the Chile quake)I told hubby I was having an earthquake headache and it was a biggie. Sure enough at 10:30 pm mountain time I got super nauseous and unknown to me 15 min later Japan was getting slammed. I only found out the next morning and still in a state of headache I told him it wasn't over yet. Happy to say today my headache is pretty much gone. But honestly I think more is coming maybe in a few days or a week.

  11. I too experienced a lot of static electricity on Thursday evening, EST. (I am in Montreal, Canada.)
A week ago we replaced our humidifier in our home so I was surprised to be zapped so many times that evening. I was even zapped while touching the wall! It was also raining all day so I can't imagine it was that dry in the house.

  12. Hayden Walker has been predicting sun spots and solar flares cause earthquakes, volcanic eruption & tornadoes/cyclones for years. Just common sense. The Moon affects our tides and us, so it makes sense that the largest object in our Solar system affects our weather.

  13. I can't find any where that NASA says space quakes cause earthquakes.
They do mention that a space quake can sometimes pack the punch of a mag. 5 or 6 earthquake to objects like space craft that are located in fields of space outside of earth's magnetic shield. I can find nowhere that NASA says the space quakes directly transfer their energy to affect earth quakes.
The statements in this blog that claim NASA made such direct observations should be recanted.

so does that mean that every earthquake is caused by a solar flare? I thought that moving plates had something to do with it...

  15. My eyesight is also going funny, as though reality is slightly out of phase, and I have good vision. I had the pre-earthquake - not headache but jitters. I had to visit my sister for her to calm me down with a hot cuppa. Next day the Japanese quake. Have had these quake jitters before though, but this one was intense.

I have also noticed high levels of static electricity in the past few weeks. When I tough some desks or electrical equipment at work, or even metal door knobs I get a huge zap! I never made the connection with solar flares until reading this. Thanks!

I am no scientist. I think that when the Earth receives/absorbs the energy from the X Class solar flare, it affects our liqued iron core, heats it up, expanding the material and putting pressure on the Earth's crust (plates). The weakest part at that time gives or slips. New vent in the crater in the volcano in Hawaii opened up last week also. Not sure if that's related. I don't usually suffer from headaches but have had a couple of doozies last week. I would like to know where the Earth was in its rotation when the energy from that flare arrived.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Someone yesterday at a meeting had the very same observation re the liquid iron core. It's ALL RELATED! One event affects everything else. Earth exists in a totally connected environment with the rest of space..it's a continuum. Equally, nothing on earth is disconnected with anything else on earth. Also, the future is connected to the past, via the present. Domino effect.

it is not possible for a solar flare to cause a earthquake one happens when two plates under the earth's crust is either: slid into one another, broken apart, or one goes under another one well unless the magnetic feild released from the solar flare was so strong that it pulled up the lava (which contains high amounts of iron and other metals) to pull to the surface causing the plates by japan to crack and cause a shock wave and that could also cause the tsunami.

We present the study of 682 earthquakes of ¡Ý4.0 magnitude observed during January 1991 to January 2007 in the light of solar flares observed by GOES and SOXS missions in order to explore the possibility of any association between solar flares and earthquakes. Our investigation preliminarily shows that each earthquake under study was preceded by a solar flare of GOES importance B to X class by 10-100 hrs. However, each flare was not found followed by earthquake of magnitude ¡Ý4.0. We classified the earthquake events with respect to their magnitude and further attempted to look for their correlation with GOES importance class and delay time. We found that with the increasing importance of flares the delay in the onset of earthquake reduces. The critical X-ray intensity of the flare to be associated with earthquake is found to be ~10-6 Watts/m2. On the other hand no clear evidence could be established that higher importance flares precede high magnitude earthquakes. Our detailed study of 50 earthquakes associated with solar flares observed by SOXS mission and other wavebands revealed many interesting results such as the location of the flare on the Sun and the delay time in the earthquake and its magnitude. We propose a model explaining the charged particles accelerated during the solar flare and released in the space that undergone further acceleration by interplanetary shocks and produce the ring current in the earth's magnetosphere, which may enhance the process of tectonics plates motion abruptly at fault zones. It is further proposed that such sudden enhancement in the process of tectonic motion of plates in fault zones may increase abruptly the heat gradients on spatial (dT/dx) and temporal (dT/dt) scales responsible for earthquakes.

    E=mc2 --> Energy creates Mass

Energy from the Sun creates Mass within the earth's core as it is absorbed creating expansion and hence, earthquakes as the earth expands.

... go ahead, call me crazy but a little research might change your mind.

  30. Has there been any research done regarding a link to the magnetic fields as we get closer to the centre of our universe as depicted by the Mayan claender? What about the displacement of water weight on the earths crust due to the melting ice in the polar regions? Does this not cause weak points in the earths crust to become vulnerable? It is known that people become more active during the full moon, just as the tide gets higher due to the pull. Our blood rises and results in many ways of expression. It appears that as we get closer to 2013 which is the end of the Mayan calender cycle and the time when we are closest to the centre of our universe that people are uprising against the old systems which have become corrupted by greed, selfcenteredness, lack of empathy for fellow humane beings and disregard for our environment which sustains us. The day of government keeping the masses content with cheap consumer goods is over. In an effort to survive some have started bartering their goods and services. I believe the effect of magnetic fields have far more effect on our planet then anyone realises. Humanity's mind is opening up. Those who cannot and will not give up themselves to the higer good of all will stagnate and be overcome by the masses. The world as we know it is on the brink of great change in ways imagined by some and hoped for by many. Any comments?
