I'm a Gator alum and lifetime South Florida resident. Having spent a fair amount of time exploring the State, it looks to me like what this woman found was NOT a sink hole but an abandoned irrigation well of the type famous for swallowing children in "U-Pick" vegetable fields. These wells are normally one to three feet wide and ten to thirty feet deep.
