Comet ISON … down, but not out!

Has Comet ISON survived?

The comet is definitely showing some signs of life. post-perihelion. NOVEMBER 28, 2013. It has been … a ride. Comet ISON rounded the sun today at 18:45 UTC/ 1:45 p.m. ES, and appeared to be disintegrating. Now this evening the comet is appearing brighter again. Will some remnant be visible from Earth in early December, as ISON pulls away from the solar glare? It hardly seems likely at this point that we’ll get a very bright comet. But we might get something. And, whatever happens now, hasn’t it been great so far?

COMET ISON—UPDATE: New images from SOHO show something emerging from behind the sun. It could be a small fragment of Comet ISON’s nucleus or perhaps a “headless comet”—a stream of debris marking the remains of the comet’s disintegrated core. Watch the movie and stay tuned for updates.

Telescopes saw the giant ball of ice and dust disappear behind the star, but only a dull streamer emerge.

Should read: "Telescopes saw an electrically charged body disappear behind the star, where the immense solar energy overpowered it, reversed its electrical bleeding and shut down its coronal dischaged and tail. Then, as the massive electrical charge continued to force its way into the "comet" the charge built up to immense amounts of energy.
