January 28, 2013KAZAKHSTANA shallow 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck a remote region of Eastern Kazakhstan today. According to news reports, the 6.0 earthquake caused apartment buildings to sway in the country's largest city, Almaty. The earthquake was followed by a 4.4 magnitude aftershock. The shallow tremors were also felt in the capital of neighboring Kyrgyzstan. The 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck at a shallow depth of 10.9 km (6.8 miles). According to the USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was 60 km (37 miles) SE of Kegen, Kazakhstan. –The Extinction Protocol
