- La Palma is the Island that has a high threat of creating a tsunami, La Palma is located north of El Heirro away from the eruption zone. I did research on these islands and created videos on why the danger of this eruption causing a large tsunami is not at El Heirro but at La Palma where there is a large crack that could break off in a future eruption similar to El Gulfo. Also, El Heirro is not explosive, it erupts slowly, Google Earth shows a large crack La Palma not at El Heirro. Check it :)
- Forgive me, but may I correct?Metric:A 300 cubic-kilometer landslide produced a tidal wave 100 meters high.Imperial:A 10.6 trillion cubic-foot landslide produced a tidal wave 328 feet high.Sorry, I'm a bit of a math geek. Love your channel, though!:P
- Thanks Mary! Appreciate your research! ;)
- I would like to see the video the guy made that called the U.S.G.S. and see what all he said and everything else that took place during his contact with them. I'm curious about the entire thing.
- Thank You so much for the warning!!! Bless You TY!!!
- I found webcams from surf shops on the island, just an FYI.
- I've been aware of the Canary Island threat of tsunamis for several years, and every scientist that studies it guarantees a mega tsunami opposed to regular devastating tsunamis. Being a MEGA-tsunami, and the predicted heights of the waves; I've always felt the projection of mileage inland is underestimated. I have always thought the wave would go somewhat further inland. This is a minimum of half of a mile-high wave. Anybody else feel it could go further inland?
