Something was in the air along the south east Queensland coast early on the 16th this week. It showed up on the radar and turned the sky orange - but exactly what it was has everyone baffled.

Hours later visible satellite imagery picks out heavy band of precipitation.
The sky turned bright orange.
The Weather Bureau baffled (again!).
1. First this on the west coast on 15th.
2. The next day bright orange glowing clouds along east coast (Nov 16th)
3. By the 17th a new vigorous spiral formed and by 18th producing largest rain fall on the
planet (below)

4. By the 17th and into the 18th the frontal boundary was producing among the heaviest and largest
rain fall on the planet (seen as orange)
