Not only Puerto Rico, but Islands in the Caribbean and Shores of the United States are in danger of a catastrophic tsunami If there is a large shift in the Trench.
The Atlantic Ocean's deepest part is found on the eight kilometer trench line, with a depth of 28 232 feet. Puerto Rico is located to the south of the trench and its fault line. The Puerto Rico Trench can most easily be described as the border between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The tireless study of this trench and the establishment of the Puerto Rican Seismic Society in 1988 are all preventative measures and safety precautions to be able to foresee and warn locals of pending tsunamis and earthquakes.
Knowledge of the earthquake and tsunami risks has not been widespread among the general public of the islands located near the trench.
Surveys of the trench have shown that the tectonic plate, just north of the Puerto Rico Trench is shifting. It is moving downwards almost underneath Puerto Rico and shows signs of recent movement. These findings are supported by the cracks in the limestone layer to the south of the trench indicating the movement of the plate, and the descending of the plate is continuing. In short, the North American tectonic plate is moving underneath the Caribbean tectonic plate.
Scientists have concluded that the Puerto Rico Trench can be dangerous and the cause of future disasters.
Following the 2004 tsunami that affected more than forty countries in the Indian Ocean, many more people now fear the consequences that such an event would bring to the Caribbean.
As of 2007, a study conducted by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) concluded the possibility of a major earthquake to be high as 33–55%.

Earthquake global incident site where it shows that over the last 9 hours 32 earthquakes at a variety of different magnitudes have swarmed the Puerto Rico region since the bigger 6.5 magnitude early on Monday. Then we move over to the National Data Buoy Center to see two flashing events meaning, according to their chart "Tsunami station in event mode (within previous 24 hours)."
Note- No tsunami warning has been issued.

Noteworthy – This comes a day after the report of 55 quakes hitting California in a 40 minute timeframe.

The Puerto Rico Trench is an oceanic trench located on the boundary between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The trench is associated with a complex transition between the Lesser Antilles subduction zone to the south and the major transform fault zone or plate boundary, which extends west between Cuba and Hispaniola through the Cayman Trench to the coast of Central America.
Scientific studies have concluded that an earthquake occurring along this fault zone could generate a significant tsunami.[1]

Knowledge of the earthquake and tsunami risks has not been widespread among the general public of the islands located near the trench. Since 1988, the Puerto Rican Seismic Society has been trying to use the Puerto Rican media to inform people about a future earthquake that could result in a catastrophic tragedy.
Following the 2004 tsunami that affected more than forty countries in the Indian Ocean, many more people now fear the consequences that such an event would bring to the Caribbean. Local governments have begun emergency planning. In the case of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the United States government has been studying the problem for years.[2] It is increasing its seismic investigations and developing tsunami warning systems. As of 2007, a study conducted by the United States Geological Survey(USGS) concluded the possibility of a major earthquake to be high as 33–55%.
