Gigantic crack opens earth in Guanajuato, Mexico
Earth splits open in Mexico:
- Two huge earth changing events in Mexico in only a two week period

On Sunday, July 1, 2012, a gigantic crack opened in the earth between the communities of La Grulla and La Joya. The earth crack is approximately 13 ft. (4 m) wide by 196 ft. (60 m) deep, and 9 miles (15 km) long.

Another hole opened to one side of the crack that was so deep that the bottom could not be seen. The area is cordoned off with caution tape and branches. The communities of Jamaica, Fátima, The Crane and The Jewel, are isolated, cut off to vehicular traffic, and can only be reached by foot trails.

As can be seen from the map, Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato and Venustiano Carranza, El Sol de Mexico fall almost in a straight line from one point to the other.

?Early on that June morning, a huge hole opened beside a building in Venustiano Carranza, El Sol de Mexico around 5:00 a.m., Residents reported hearing a rumbling sound on Teapa Road. Then, around 7:00 a.m., the asphalt rose and cracked at the corner of Avenue and North Industry 29, creating a 28 ft. long, 6 ft. wide, and 4 ft. deep chasm in the earth, and swallowing up some trees in the process.
