In the last 2 days exploding fireballs were reported on all sides of the world – Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Australia, Cuba, South Africa, Morocco, Germany, Switzerland, northern Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, UK…

- An enormous fireball was reported by numerous witnesses over Belgium, Netherlands and Germany on February 13, 2013. 

The sight lasted from 10 – 20 seconds. There were two separate fragmentations that shone brightly, one witness reported. 

????  Apparently it was part of the Soyuz rocket - 

but it still remains unclear what it was exactly. ????????

The 1800th flight of a Soyuz launch vehicle was performed on Monday, 11 February 2013 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 18:41 Moscow time (15:41 Paris time). Arianespace and its Russian partners report that the Progress cargo spacecraft was accurately placed on the target orbit for another mission to the International Space Station. This was the second Soyuz family mission in 2013.  Detailed reports on witness reports here. Russia launches first station mission of 2013

A Russian cargo ship arrived at the International Space Station, ISS, Monday, opening a flow of supplies to the orbital outpost in 2013.
The launch of the Soyuz-U rocket from Site 1 in Baikonur took place as scheduled on Feb. 11, 2013, at 18:41:47 Moscow Time (9:41 a.m. EST).
The rocket was carrying the 7,290-kilogram Progress M-18M cargo ship (production No. 418). It will be the first mission heading to the ISS in 2013. The launch vehicle followed a standard ascent trajectory to enter an initial Earth orbit, which was reached successfully.
In preparation for the arrival of fresh supplies, a previous cargo ship -- Progress M-16M -- was undocked from the station's Pirs docking compartment on the Russian segment of the station

Cuba, 15.02.2013 Residents of a locality ‘in the central region of Cuba said they had seen an object that fell from the sky and exploded with a great noise, which shook the houses of the place: it is learned from testimonies collected by local television. In service published this morning by Rodas, town in the province of Cienfuegos, witnesses described a very bright light that has come to have large size, comparable to that of a bus, before exploding in the sky.

Cuba Update: Apparently, another potential meteor crash may have happened in Cuba today. Related? From the foreign language news site: "In a report released this morning by Rodas, town in the province of Cienfuegos, witnesses described a very bright light that has come to have large size, comparable to that of a bus, before exploding in the sky."

Vladimir Zhivinosky denies meteorite, claims U.S. weapons test

Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. Russian nationalist lawmaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky, long known for his flamboyance and outrageous remarks, said Friday that meteorite fragments had not rained down on Russia in the morning, but that the light flashes and tremors in several of the country’s regions resulted from US weapons tests, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

“Those aren’t meteors falling, it’s the Americans testing new weapons,” Zhirinovsky, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, told journalists several hours after the Emergencies Ministry began issuing statements on the incident, which has injured hundreds and damaged scores of buildings.

He also said US Secretary of State John Kerry had wanted to warn Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the “provocation” on Monday, but couldn’t reach him – a reference to US State Department comments earlier this week that Kerry had spent several days trying to speak to Lavrov by phone to discuss North Korea and Syria.

Tennessee: Mysterious Shaking Puzzles Experts In Morristown

Gannett News Service – “Morristown, TN– Late Tuesday afternoon dozens of concerned neighbors called Hamblen County 911 to report the earth shaking and the sound of a large blast.

At first the the US Geological Survey reported there was no earthquake in the area.

That prompted local emergency management officials to spend Wednesday looking at other options.

10News spoke with TDEC (Tennessee Department of Environmental Conservation) who ruled out fracking or quarry activity.

Then, we checked with the University of Memphis Center for Earthquake Research and Information, sponsored by the USGS.

Geologist Gary Patterson went and pulled the records from sensors on Tuesday and says he could see activity consistent with an earthquake or quarry blasting.

Emergency Managment Agency Director Chris Bell says there was no licensed blasting in the Hamblen County area on Tuesday.

10News also confirmed with the area’s only quarry, Vulcan Materials, that no blasting happened yesterday.

Patterson says the activity shows up over a large area with sensors reporting vibrations in Copper Ridge, Avondale Springs, Green Top, and Lonesome, VA.

He says the USGS doesn’t have a lot of sensors in that area which may have resulted in the automated system’s failure to report the activity.

Patterson says they need more time to investigate, but either an earthquake or quarry blasting could solve the ‘Morristown Mystery.’”

I got a text from a buddy of mine telling me about some large booms going on in Morristown. He lives about 20 minutes away from there and doesn't remember hearing or feeling anything. I guess the first boom shook the walls of one man's home so bad that it actually cracked the plaster. My first thought was The Oakridge facility but it's probably too far away. Maybe caused by fracking?

Morristown residents felt the earth shake not once but twice Tuesday, but the U.S. Geological Survey says it was not an earthquake.
The cause of what residents say felt like an explosion is a mystery to officials at this point.
Resident Willie Strange had barely made it through the front door from working all day when he felt his home move around four o'clock.
"Came in and sat down. Flipped the TV on and all at once, it was a jarring explosion. I thought someone had set off some dynamite charge. I could feel the walls shaking," said Strange.
He started looking around and noticed cracks in his bedroom walls and molding. Before he could inspect the rest of the house, he felt it again.
"I felt like another little explosion right behind that. So then I got outside and I seen the neighbors. Everybody was outside looking around wondering what was going on," he said.
Strange and his neighbors weren't the only ones. From one side of Morristown to the other, residents flooded the emergency dispatch center with calls of concern.
"It was chaotic. We probably received 80 to 100 calls," said dispatcher Greg Simmons.
"I tell you what it shook the whole house here. I thought something blew up!" one caller said.
After about 20 minutes the calls slowed and things went back to normal around town. That's when Strange found even more cracks around his home and on the outside as well.
Now he's left with damage and nowhere to place the blame.
Around 10 o'clock, dispatch reported another rumbling. They said they received less calls than the first episode.
The Emergency Management Agency says they are investigating the cause. They say there is no major damage to report.

Spectacular Heavenly Show Expected This Year

By STEVE ELWART, WND – “Later this year, Comet ISON will pass through the asteroid belt, enter the Inner Solar System and sidestep Mars on its way past Earth, putting on what scientists expect will be a spectacular heavenly show that is not to be missed.

Astronomers are calling it the ‘comet of the century.’

Comets offer one of the most spectacular celestial scenes the unaided human eye can see. By November or December, ISON is expected to be brighter than a full moon. Some believe it will be up to 15 times brighter.

While ISON may prove to be brighter than any other comet of the last century, this trip may also be its swan song, as it is projected to end its flight in a fiery death in the sun.

Comets are made of several parts. The core, or nucleus, is a solid snowball of dust and ice. As the comet nears the sun, the nucleus heats up, releasing the mixture of gas, called the coma, and dust, which forms the tail. There is also a plasma ion tail, which can be several hundred million miles long.

Occasionally, a comet is dislodged from its orbit and makes its way toward Earth.

Comet ISON, currently in the vicinity of Jupiter, was discovered by two Russian amateur astronomers, Vitali Nevski and Artyom Novichonok, using a 16-inch International Scientific Optical Network telescope in Vitebsk, Belarus. The comet possibly came from the Kuiper Belt, a region of icy small bodies beyond Neptune.

ISON, for the moment, is a faint object, visible only in sophisticated telescopes, but that will change in the next few months. 

British astronomer David Whitehouse, in the London Independent, reports that by the end of summer, it will become visible in small telescopes and binoculars.

By October, the comet will pass close to Mars, and it will start to become exciting. The surface of the comet will begin to shift as it nears the sun. As it continues to warm, the surface will crack, releasing small puffs of gas from its core, forming the comet’s tail. Slowly at first, but with increasing energy, the gas and dust will reflect even more of the sun’s light

By autumn, the view should be remarkable.

Astronomers have calculated that the comet will not impact Earth, however, it will pass less than 800,000 miles away from Earth, making it easily visible.

Like the moon, comets do not shine on their own. They reflect only about 4 percent of the sun’s rays, about the same luminescence as a lump of coal. So while the sun’s reflection makes comets look brilliantly white from Earth, they are black on the surface.

The comet will begin brightening once it comes within Jupiter’s orbit, as the sun’s heat begins boiling the ice locked within, converting it directly into a gas.

The reaction to ISON is likely to recall the excitement of Comet Hale-Bopp, which sailed past the Earth in 1997, appearing as a static smear in the skies across the Northern Hemisphere.

ISON is also set to outshine ‘the greatest comet of the last century’ – Comet McNaught, which shone brighter than Venus as it passed above the Southern Hemisphere in 1965.

There are reports Comet ISON’s path resembles that of the Great Comet of 1680, which is also called Kirch’s Comet or Newton’s Comet. That comet’s tail was reportedly visible during the day.

Comets are known as ‘dirty snowballs,’ although technically a better definition would be ‘snowy dirtballs,’ as they are generally rocky at the surface, with chemical-laden ice inside.
