  Great update, thanks! I really don't think all the technological failures we heard about when ISON was inbound actually happened. They just took a lot of their instruments offline to keep data out of open discussion. They have more technology tracking the remains of ISON than we even know about or suspect. There's got to be a reason NASA/JPL are so interested in it and at the same time want all of us to forget about it. Many thanks for staying on top of this, BPE and I pray we all make it safely through to February, but we could be in for what Janet Napalitano said would be a natural disaster the likes of which we have never faced in our lifetimes.

Interesting times in the Heavens at the moment, this year and next ..
For NASA to be hiding information or altering information says a lot to me .. which they have been doing regarding ISON. All the other Comets over the years the information has been straight up ...

MAVEN Status Update: Dec. 5, 2013 

Still parked in Earth's orbit? 

It will be able to see ISON shrapnel.

 IUVS successfully completed remote sensing on-orbit Initial power on and checkout. All instrument sub-systems have been tested and are performing as expected. As part of this check out, IUVS has taken two sets of images at various high voltage settings to get a baseline of on-orbit performance at the current instrument temperatures. IUVS took initial measurements of inter planetary hydrogen.
