Happened to be looking out the back French doors and saw a really bright, big 'falling star' in the southern sky just a couple minutes ago. Comet ISON debris? Both?
Would the Geminid meteors be left over from thousands of years ago when Comet ISON was in our vicinity and also produced fragmentss? Would the orbits remain the same or would different circumstances, planets, stars, electromagnet shifts, polar shifts affect and change their orbits?

They claim that fragments of Comet ison will hit earth in december, this based in emulations performed using supercomputer ‘Tiger 2′ and a propietary model.
They claim that the when the comet enter the atmosphere of the sun the ice will change state abruptely, turning into a propellant, changing the trajectory of the comet.
They claim that the fragments of the comet will spread in the shape of a cone with a base diameter of 300.000 kms , that is the distance of from the earth to the moon.
they claim that the comet after crossing the sun will be higly fragmented, fragments ranging from a football to the size of a ship.

The wing-like structures on the images cannot be recognised with the naked eye, numerical methods are needed to make them appear in processed images. To this end the researchers scan the gaseous environment of the comet on the computer for changes in brightness. The uniformly bright background of the comet's atmosphere is subtracted and can thus no longer eclipse the weak structures. "Our computations indicate that either only a single chunk split off or that only very few pieces of debris were released," says Böhnhardt.
It is still unclear how the comet will behave in the coming weeks as it journeys around the Sun. "However, past experience has shown that comets which have lost fragments once have a tendency to do so again," says the comet researcher.
