Well, right now in Miami, I have found out that there is a 'Whooping Cough' epidemic going on.
My daughter, a student nurse, went to the Firefighter's Wellness clinic downtown to get blood drawn, and every single person, patients and staff had on masks..She thought, what's going on? They told her there's a Whooping Cough epidemic going on. Yep, people were coughing up a storm.. also in one of her classes at the college, most of the entire class was coughing terribly. Those who weren't coughing, covered their noses with tissues or pulled their shirts up over their noses! As soon as the class finished, the teacher uncharactistically quickly dismissed them, with 'Lets get out of here, and everyone go wash their hands!'
Roy and I have recovered very well from some sort of a flu, this week after about 10 days of coughing, fever, malaise and now we feel great again! We went to a Valentines Day dance and dinner last night - didn't notice any coughing, and they had more people attend than had bought tickets in advance. They had to scurry up extra dinners! My appetite was really good after none for a while with the flu. I even ate dessert! LOL!
