What's going on in Hawaii?

How long has this been going on?  Over a month so far! 
And continuing.

Here's from May 7th:

Kelena Kealoha fled the California wildfires for his dream home here. Now the lava flows are just feet away.

"I was going to raise my daughters here, but it doesn't look like it was going to turn out to be the scenario we hoped," Kealoha said. "I've never experienced lava consuming all of my possessions before ... I guess it's kind of mixed emotions."

Amber Makuakane's home is already gone. The single mom doesn't know how to tell her 4-year-old son.

"I need to figure that out," she said with tears in her eyes. "My son asks, 'Mommy, can we go home?'"

Scientists have no real prediction as to when or where the lava will flow -- or when it will end.

This afternoon's small eruption at the Te Maari crater on Mount Tongariro appears to be over, GNS Science reports. Accordingly, GNS scientists have now decreased the Aviation Colour Code from Red to Orange, signalling that ash is no longer being emitted. Alaska - Cleveland volcano has third explosion in week

Cleveland Volcano has exploded for the third time in just over a week. The latest eruption of the Aleutian volcano Tuesday afternoon was relatively small, according to a release from the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

Scientists at the Observatory weren’t able detect an ash cloud associated with this event or either of the other two. There’s no real-time monitoring equipment on Cleveland.

None of the recent eruptions have interrupted air travel in the region.

Cleveland’s last major eruption in 2001 sent ash clouds as high as 39,000 feet. The volcano is on uninhabited Island, about 160 miles west of Unalaska.

Mt. Etna Erupts yet Again

Mount Etna volcano in Sicily, Italy, erupted for the tenth time this year on Friday, sending a large ash plume southeastward over the nearby city of Catania.

Throughout 2011, activity at Sicily’s Mount Etna has been characterised by paroxysms: short, violent bursts of activity. Each event has included volcanic tremors, ash emissions, and lava flows centered around the New Southeast Crater, just below the summit.
