EDITOR’S NOTE: There is nothing un-Christian about shopping and looking for bargains, but there certainly is something demonic about what now has become the ritual of Black Friday. Looking for all the world like the movie Rollerball from the 1970’s,  Black Friday shopping showcases greed, avarice, revenge, anger, malice, and yes, lust. The apostle Paul says that if we have food and clothing we should be content, right? Fighting your neighbor to save a dollar on a flat screen is really no different from when Cain killed Able, both are inspired by the same guy. Think about it. 

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV)

The opening of stores on Thursday evening appeared to invite chaos and trouble early on, with several shootings reported in mall parking lots, while a number of videos capturing tense shopping scenes also emerged.

A man was fatally shot and his brother was wounded in a shooting outside of a Macy’s in New Jersey on Friday morning while another was shot dead in an apparent road rage incident in a Walmart parking lot in Nevada on Thursday.

Shoppers who arrived early Friday – the biggest shopping day of the year – were shocked by the scene.
“It’s very scary,” as shopper told the station. “You’re starting off the holiday season and you’re excited about the upcoming times with family and now there’s going to be family who are missing people, and their holidays will never be the same.”
