Two brave U.S. Border Patrol agents -- Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean -- are headed to prison for a combined 23 YEARS!  Their sentences begin TODAY -- January 17 -- IN FACT, THEY MAY ALREADY BE IN PRISON ONCE YOU READ THIS LETTER! Their crime? Defending our nation's southern border against illegal alien drug smugglers. In other words, these two men are in jail for what Congressman Tom Tancredo called, "doing their job" -- securing the border. Here are the facts:   Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean spotted a suspicious van on U.S. soil near the U.S.-Mexico border.   The van was being driven by an illegal alien -- Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila -- who was smuggling 743 pounds of marijuana into the United States. When the illegal alien and drug smuggler saw Agents Ramos and Compean, he ran for the border.  The agents heard gun shots while pursuing Davila on foot. According to media reports, Davila at one point turned toward the pursuing agents and pointed what appeared to be a gun.  The border agents fired their weapons at the fleeing illegal alien drug smuggler. Davila was hit in his buttocks -- although Compean and Ramos apparently did not know it at the time -- and Davila didn't even slow down.  He jumped into a waiting van and sped off in the night. What happened next is so unbelievable, so outrageous that it should boil the blood of every American. Apparently outraged that a foreign illegal drug smuggler was shot in the buttocks, Johnny Sutton -- U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas -- ordered a full-scale, no stone un-turned, investigation of COMPEAN AND RAMOS! The illegal alien drug smuggler Davila received full immunity for his testimony against Agents Ramos and Compean.  Not only that, he was given full medical care at an Army medical center in El Paso courtesy of U.S. taxpayers. As The New American put it: "Incredibly, while agents Ramos and Compean and their families face economic ruin, emotional devastation, and real physical danger, as a result of that 15-minute chase, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila -- an admitted felon and drug smuggler -- has not only gotten off scot-free, he stands to become a rich man, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayers. In a seemingly unbelievable turn of events, agents for the U.S. Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security contacted the smuggler in Mexico and offered him complete immunity if he would testify that the Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean had violated his civil rights." We couldn't make this up if we tried. Sutton charged these two heroes with Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Discharge of a Firearm in Relation to a Crime of Violence, and -- get this -- a violation of the "civil rights" of an illegal alien. In other words, he threw the book at them. What about the illegal alien drug smuggler you ask? The actual arrest should give you an indication of what is going on here:  Instead of calling the two agents into headquarters, the Department of Homeland Security sent two SWAT teams to stage a high-profile arrest at each house, during which they bullied the two men and their stunned and terrified families. At the trial, the prosecutor, Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Kanov, dismissed Agent Ramos's testimony that he saw "something shiny" in Davila's hand.  She said Ramos "couldn't be sure it was a gun he had seen." In other words, if it's dark and you can't be absolutely certain that the shiny thing you see pointed at you and your fellow agent is a pistol, don't fire until you get a bullet between your eyes. Then you'll know for certain it's a gun. Also, the prosecutor said it was a violation of Border Patrol policy for agents to pursue dope dealers on the run. As she explained it: "Agents are not allowed to pursue. In order to exceed the speed limit, you have to get supervisor approval, and they did not." Ramos, who had a stellar 10-year record and who had been nominated for the Agent of the Year award, said in reply: "How are we supposed to follow the Border patrol strategy of apprehending terrorists or drug smugglers if we aren't supposed to pursue fleeing people? Everybody who's breaking the law flees from us. What are we supposed to do? Do they want us to catch them or not?" The answer to Officer Ramos's question is: OBVIOUSLY NOT! That's why criminals like Davila are crossing our borders every single day. And when two law enforcement officers try to carry out the will of the American people -- when they try to do their jobs -- they are handcuffed and hauled off to prison. Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean deserve to be commended for their bravery and service to our country, not charged by our government for supposedly violating an illegal alien drug smuggler's "Civil Rights." Question: What about the jury?  Why did all 12 jurors agree that both Border Patrol officers were guilty? Three jurors now say THEY DIDN'T WANT TO VOTE GUILTY and are disturbed by the verdict. Robert Gourley, Claudia Torres, and Edine Woods say they were told the verdict HAD TO BE UNANIMOUS, which was flat-out untrue. After the trial, at least two jurors gave sworn statements that they had been pressured to render a guilty verdict and did not understand that a hung jury was possible. In addition, some jurors allegedly bullied other jurors, intimidating them into changing their votes. One juror said he thought that 10 years in prison for the agents was excessive punishment. "Had we had the option of a hung jury," he said, "I truly believe the outcome may have been different." Another said of the jury foreman, "I felt like he knew something about the judge that we did not know. I did not think that Mr. Ramos or Mr. Compean was guilty of the assaults and civil rights violations." People all over the country have expressed their indignation at this sickening misuse of our judicial system, which further hamstrings and intimidates our Border Patrol. Tom Tancredo -- Congressman, anti-illegal immigration activist, and author of In Mortal Danger -- said: "This is not the message that our legal system should be giving to the drug cartels that are smuggling drugs, people and terrorists across our borders." Andy Ramirez, of the non-profit Friends of the Border Patrol, said: "This is the greatest miscarriage of justice I have ever seen. This drug smuggler has fully contributed to the destruction of two brave agents and their families and has sent a very loud message to the other Border Patrol agents: If you confront a smuggler, this is what will happen to you."   [Emphasis Mine] 55 Members of Congress are demanding that President Bush pardon these brave border agents and 12 of these Members sent a letter to President Bush, which reads in part: "We ask that a full investigation of this case be ordered immediately. We are confident that during such an investigation you will find that these Border Patrol agents were acting within the scope of their duty and were unjustly prosecuted. Also, we ask that you use your power of presidential pardon, as granted by the United States Constitution in Article II, Section 2, to pardon these two Border Patrol agents."   Congressman Dana Rohrabacher has even called Agents Compean and Ramos, "heroes." These expressions of outrage and anguish underline the monumental importance of this case. The drug cartels, gangs, and even terrorists seeking to exploit our nation's open borders have just seen the light turn green. The Border Patrol has been stripped naked. It can't fire a gun without risking more than ten years in prison. It can't violate the speed limit without saying, "Mother, may I?" And if it detains an illegal alien dealing drugs, it may be violating his civil rights? If you think illegal immigration is a problem, wait till you see what happens now that Compean and Ramos have been hauled off to prison in chains. There's not a moment to lose -- without a pardon, Agents Compean and Ramos will languish in a jail while they appeal a conviction that should have never happened in the first place! This miscarriage of justice is so flagrant... so egregious... that many people have written us and asked if we are telling the whole story. Actually, for the sake of full disclosure, Ramos and Compean did disregard two departmental procedures, which we will point out just to illustrate the absurdity of this entire prosecution. First, Compean and Ramos should have NEVER pursued Davila in the first place.  Departmental procedures require that agents obtain the approval of a supervisor before pursuing a suspect. In other words -- per departmental procedures -- when Davila started to run for the Mexican border, Compean and Ramos should have STOPPED... radioed a superior and asked for permission to pursue him. As Eagle Forum Founder Phyllis Schlafly put it: "A major argument used by the prosecution during the trial was that our government has a policy forbidding agents from chasing suspected drug smugglers without first getting permission from supervisors. That sounds like a no-arrest policy . By the time an agent gets permission, a smuggler can be out of sight and safely back over the border." [Emphasis Mine] Secondly, Compean and Ramos neglected to mention in their report that shots had been fired.  There is no dispute of that fact.  Compean and Ramos were wrong... But... Is it fair and just to send two law enforcement officers to prison for a combined 23 years for pursuing a dangerous drug smuggler and neglecting to report that shots were fired? Hardly... in most cases, such actions warrant a few days of suspension without pay! In fact, this situation has destroyed the morale of our Border Patrol agents.  According to one source, "A lot of agents are now saying, 'We don't want to be the next Ramos and Compean.'" If President Bush pardons officers Compean and Ramos, he will be sending a strong message that America is committed to securing our borders -- that our brave border patrol agents can do their jobs without fear of prosecution by our own government. If he signs these pardons, it will infuse the Border Patrol with a new sense of pride and purpose. They will know the President of the United States stands behind them with all the awesome power of his office. It's an outrage that Agents Ramos and Compean will be locked up next to the same brand of criminals, thugs, and gang members that they dedicated their lives to putting behind bars. And it's an even bigger outrage that they are convicted and jailed... while our government is trying to grant AMNESTY to at least 12 million illegal aliens currently living and working in our country. Just after eight that morning, Dr. Dalton sliced open my wife's abdomen, hunting the murderous tumor that x-rays had revealed just days before. "Susan has six months, maybe eight." * * * "This is a perishing and mortal life," wrote St Francis de Sales to a new widow, "and death, which rules over it, keeps no regular course. It seizes the good among the bad, the young among the old." That morning, death seized my Susan, and would not let go. But St. Francis, who warned of death's caprice, had already (in three sentences on the back of a holy card) taught us how to understand it. His meditation begins: The everlasting God has, in his wisdom, foreseen from eternity the cross that He now presents to you as a gift from His inmost heart. * *  * Dr. Dalton turned away. She saw her cross as God did: He has blessed it with His holy name, anointed it with His grace, perfumed it with His consolation, taken one last glance at you and your courage, and then sent it to you from Heaven, a special greeting from God to you, an alms of the all-merciful love of God. * * * Service gives life meaning, even when we falter. So long as I could bring Susan food, brush her teeth, wipe her face, hold her hand, talk with her and pray, God was merciful and life was good. Susan's last days were, in fact, anointed with God's grace and perfumed with His consolation. * * * On July 17th, the sun rose early and hot. Susan struggled for breath. I squinted against the glare and wiped the sweat from her face, praying all the while. Then she was dead. Gone. And with her, God. * * * Although in 1767, Jane de Chantal's holiness led the Church to proclaim her a saint, for decades she suffered a similar desolation. Like me, she was convinced that her sinfulness and weak faith had led God to abandon her. With just one letter, Francis lifted her desolation . . . and mine. That same letter may help you overcome your doubts, too. In it, Francis wrote (among other things): "If a statue placed in a remote room could speak and was asked, 'Why are you here?' it would answer, 'Because my master has put me here.'" "What profit do you gain by being so?" "It's not for my profit that I'm here; it's to serve and obey the will of my master." "But you don't see him." "No. But he sees me, and takes pleasure in seeing me where he has put me." "Wouldn't you like to be able to move so you could go near him?" "Certainly not, except when he might command me." "Don't you want anything, then?" "No; for I'm where my master has placed me, and his good pleasure is the joy of my being." * * * "Thy will be done." With those four words, Francis became a saint . . . and a saintmaker, drawing up to Heaven his friends St. Vincent de Paul and St. Jane de Chantal. No wonder Pope Pius XI said, "St. Francis seems to have been sent especially by God. He was remarkable not only for the holiness of his life, but for the wisdom with which he directed souls." * * * So that you, too, may profit from Francis's wisdom, I've gathered more than fifty of his best letters into one small volume, which I've entitled Thy Will Be Done! * * * Among them are the letters from which I quoted above, as well as one that contains thoughts I first encountered in a well-worn booklet by Padre Pio that I found in Susan's purse after she died. Susan must often have turned to one passage there, for the booklet fell open to it: "Why should you worry about whether God wants you to reach the heavenly home by way of the desert or by the fields, when by the one as well as by the other, one arrives all the same at a Blessed Eternity?" That passage in Padre Pio's booklet helped sustain Susan in her last months. NEW YORK - Environmental officials in two states said they have given up hope of finding the source of a mysterious odor that swept across parts of the New York City area a week ago.

New Jersey officials said they checked out more than 140 industrial facilities in the northern part of the state to see whether they were responsible for the smell that drifted up the Hudson River on Jan. 8.

The inquiry didn't turn up any unusual emissions, said Elaine Makatura, a spokeswoman for the state's Department of Environmental Protection.

New York City officials analyzed air samples taken when the invisible vapors lingered over the Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island boroughs and also came up empty.

"We have done the extensive lab analysis, and there is nothing conclusive as to a particular chemical signature from the samples we took," said Charles Sturcken, a spokesman for the city's Department of Environmental Protection.

Unless the bad smell returns, the city is finished with the matter, Sturcken said.

Officials in both states began their inquiries the morning of Jan. 8, when people on Staten Island began calling authorities to complain about a pungent smell that some feared was leaking natural gas.

Within minutes, similar complaints were being called in across the harbor in Manhattan, then farther north. People in two New Jersey counties were reporting the smell by 11 a.m. Then it dissipated.

As of this moment, natural gas leaks are being reported all across the globe. When an earthquake is about to occur, fissures open up in the earth's crust and begin to allow natural gas to pour into the atmosphere. To admit gas is emitting from the ground raises earthquake questions no public official wants to answer!

Let us review this story now, remembering that the real story lies in the fact that natural gas smell is being reported all over the globe, in the same general time frame. No one news story carries the weight that the sum total of them carry. The sum total of natural gas being reported tells us that an gigantic earth-changing event may be about to occur.

By evening, the answer seemed to be a stinky gas emitted by a New Jersey swamp or marsh. "

If the natural gas came from a New Jersey swamp, that would be consistent with the other reports of natural gas being emitted from fissures in the earth across a wide swath of the world.

Now, let us examine reports of natural gas erupting in enough quantity into the atmosphere to kill birds -- again, across a wide swath for many thousands of miles -- a phenomenon consistent with a worldwide massive earth-change underway.

NEWS BRIEF: "Bird Flu Ruled Out On Dead Birds; Testing Continues Tuesday", KXAN.com News, January 9, 2007

"It should be business as usual Tuesday around Downtown Austin, but there's still no word on what caused the deaths of more than 60 birds. Preliminary tests showed no dangerous chemicals in the area, and the bird flu has been ruled out. While officials search for answers, they say they're confident that there's no public health threat. 'Yeah, it sounds most like a poisoning, if I had to guess', said Jacob Mireles, D.V.M., with the Brykerwood Veterinary Clinic, 'and I'm pretty sure that's what it's going to come out as'."

Therefore, what mysterious substance could poison so many birds in a relatively tight geographical area? Why, it must be some sort of gas in the area -- poisonous gas. But, of course, such a poisonous gas is of no threat whatsoever to humans! Don't you just love public health officials? Just as in one natural disaster movie after another, public officials are more concerned about keeping people from panicking than they are in getting to the truth of a matter.

The fact is that birds are much more susceptible to methane gas than are humans. A quantity which would not even faze a human would kill a bird. And smaller birds are the most susceptible. This scientific fact is the reason small birds are used in coal mines to detect leaking methane gas and sound the alarm by dying before the level of the gas reaches a proportion which could kill a human being!

"BOISE - More than 2,000 dead mallard ducks have been found in the Magic Valley. A Fish and Game spokesperson says that it is unlikely bird flu in a cause in the mass deaths, but an investigation is underway ... Preliminary diagnosis is a bacterial infection is the likely cause', said Magic Valley Fish & Game supervisor David Parrish. ?State veterinarians in Boise have found the lung tissue of the ducks to be full of white and yellowish bacterial abscesses. They also found hemorrhaging around the heart. At this point in time, however, we are not ruling out any potential cause'.?

It seems to be that, if these ducks died of a bacterial infection, they would die more "one-by-one" and less in such massive heaps as the picture on this site shows. The only thing that would cause such great numbers of fowl to drop dead is something that they all simultaneously encountered in the environment -- like a sudden eruption of natural methane gas.

"THOUSANDS of birds have fallen from the skies over Esperance and no one knows why. Is it an illness, toxins or a natural phenomenon? A string of autopsies in Perth have shed no light on the mystery. All the residents of flood-devastated Esperance know is that their 'dawn chorus' of singing birds is missing. The main casualties are wattle birds, yellow-throated miners, new holland honeyeaters and singing honeyeaters, although some dead crows, hawks and pigeons have also been found. Wildlife officers are baffled by the 'catastrophic' event, which the Department of Environment and Conservation said began well before last week's freak storm. On Monday, Esperance, 725km southeast of Perth, was declared a natural disaster zone."

"... Birds Australia, the nation's main bird conservation group, said it had not heard of a similar occurrence. 'Not on that scale, and all at the same time, and also the fact that it's several different species', chief executive Graeme Hamilton said ... Dr Sunderman said there were no leads yet on which of potentially hundreds of toxins might be responsible. Some birds were seen convulsing as they died ... Michelle Crisp was one of the first to contact the DEC after finding dozens of dead birds on her property one morning. She told The Australian she normally had hundreds of birds in her yard, but that she and a neighbour counted 80 dead birds in one day. "It went to the point where we had nothing, not a bird', she said. 'It was like a moonscape, just horrible. But the frightening thing for us, we didn't find any more birds after that. We literally didn't have any birds left to die'."

This story affirms our earlier assertion, that mass numbers of birds dying -- and across species -- indicates that they all encountered a very deadly environmental poison, all at once. This fact again seems to indicate a natural gas leak, probably methane.

BREAKING: 'Catastrophic': Now THOUSANDS of birds fall from sky

January 9, 2007

Today Roy and I almost ran over a large strange looking bird that was just standing rather dumbly on the edge of the road near a busy Cutler Bay intersection.   Had a yellow beak - the bird just looked up into the sky and sort of yawned.. but would not move off the road despite all the cars going around it.  Roy knows the Everglades fauna, but this one wasn't familiar.. he thought it was some species of water bird, going by the shape of the beak.

OLVESTON, Montserrat (AP) ? The Soufriere Hills volcano, which has been erupting for the past 11 years, shot a cloud of ash more than 5 miles into the sky on Monday, and authorities warned that more significant activity is possible in coming days.

The blast, accompanied by increased seismic rumbling, released gases and steam from inside a lava dome that has grown rapidly over the last week, said Dr. Vicky Hards, director of the Montserrat Volcano Observatory.

"I think it was a warning call ... of what it can do," Hards said.

The explosion near sunrise also sent a flow of volcanic material cascading down the volcano's northwest flank for 2 miles but did not immediately threaten any of the British Caribbean island's 5,000 inhabitants, Hards said. Sirens alerted people to listen to the radio for updates.

Wind blowing from the east pushed the dark gray ash over the "exclusion zone," a barren, uninhabited area extending from the 3,000-foot high volcano across the southwest to the coast. Southwest of the island is open water.

Scientists say the dome could collapse and send blistering gas and debris down the slopes of the volcano, potentially destroying homes in the low-lying Belham Valley. The volcano coughs up ash and bursts its lava cap every few months.

The Soufriere Hills volcano sprang to life in 1995, and more than half the territory's 12,000 inhabitants moved away. An eruption in 1997 buried much of the south, including the capital of Plymouth, and killed 19 people.
