Sochi (Russia) (AFP) - President Vladimir Putin slammed as "hysteria" Thursday claims that Russia has tried to interfere in the upcoming US presidential elections by hacking US political institutions including the Democrats behind frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

Russia has been accused of favouring Republican candidate Donald Trump -- who has praised Putin and called for better relations with Moscow -- over the more hawkish Clinton.

"The number of mythical, dreamt-up problems includes the hysteria -- I can't think of another word -- that has broken out in the United States about the influence of Russia on the current elections for the US president," Putin said at a meeting of political scientists in Sochi.

"Does anyone seriously think Russia can somehow influence the choice of the US people? Is the US some kind of banana republic? The United States is a great power. Please correct me if I'm wrong," Putin said to laughter in the audience.

Washington last week formally accused the Russian government of trying to "interfere" in the 2016 White House race by hacking US political institutions, charges the Kremlin has repeatedly dismissed.

Putin has vehemently rejected the accusations, saying they are meant to divert American voters from domestic problems.

"It's a lot easier to distract people's attention towards Russia's so-called hackers, spies, agents of influence and so on," Putin said Thursday.

The Kremlin strongman however adopted a hard line against cyber attacks, saying these are "unacceptable".

Russian authorities have slammed Washington for "unprecedented" threats after US Vice President Joe Biden told NBC this month that Putin would receive a "message" in response to the alleged hacking.

NBC later reported that the CIA was preparing a retaliatory cyber attack "designed to harass and embarrass the Kremlin leadership."

Russia's foreign ministry at the weekend said that an old version of its website had apparently been attacked after a US hacker claimed he broke in and posted a mocking message.

- 'Absolute nonsense' -

The Kremlin was propelled to the heart of US politics in July after Clinton's campaign blamed Moscow for a damaging leak of emails from the Democratic National Committee.

Putin has offered what appears to be veiled support for Trump, but he said Thursday that claims the Kremlin would like to see the Republican candidate win were "absolute nonsense."

"This is just a method of political struggle, a way to manipulate public opinion on the eve of the US elections," he said.

Putin nonetheless praised Trump for appealing to disenchanted American electors.

"He represents the views of a significant part of society in the United States that is tired of those elites who have been in power for decades," he said.

"He just represents the interests of such ordinary people, and he presents himself as an ordinary guy who criticises those who have already been in power for decades."

- Russia not attacking anyone -

He accused the West of building up a "mythical and made-up" threat of Russian aggression to justify increasing military spending and bolstering NATO forces in countries neighbouring Russia.

"It's very pleasant and profitable to make yourself out to be defendants of civilisation from some new barbarians, but the thing is Russia doesn't plan to attack anyone," he said.

"It's unthinkable -- simply stupid and unrealistic," he added. "It's just funny to talk about it."

Putin also took a jab at the West for its "mistakes" in its military interventions in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and now, Syria.

"The fight against terrorism has not yielded a global result while the threats are only growing," he warned, complaining that Russia's calls to unite forces against terrorism have been ignored.

He pointed the finger of blame at the United States for the ongoing violence in Syria, saying that "stopping bloodshed and launching a political process (in Syria) has not been possible."

"Our personal agreements with the US President did not work," Putin added, accusing forces in Washington of "doing everything for these not to be implemented."

Putin said Russia had been comporting itself in a "composed" manner.

"But our patience has its limits," he said, without elaborating.

 Orders Military To Protect Trump “At All Costs”

One thing I like about Sorcha Faal, is that there are  links posted to the facts. 

A remarkable Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin states that President Putin became “enraged/infuriated” earlier today after learning that the Obama regime has broken for the first time in American history the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and is refusing to allow Russian experts to monitor the US presidential election, thus signaling Hillary Clinton and President Obama’s attempt to steal it—and who after this meeting then promptly ordered the Federation’s military forces to “protect/defend” Donald Trump “at all costs” as this American billionaire is now all that stands between peace and World War III.  [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes in this report are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]

According to this report, the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations is the world’s “keystone” international agreement to ensure the honesty and transparency of elections—and that during this past year alone was used to protect the 8 November 2015 election in Myanmar with 10,500 international observers, and in Russia itself where during the September parliamentary elections, 117 foreign observers were credited to monitor its voting, including 63 American diplomatic officials. 

With Federation diplomatic election experts preparing to travel to the United States to observe the honesty and transparency of that nations 8 November presidential election, this report continues, the US Department of State (DoS)  abruptly, and without notice, broke off all contact with the Central Elections Commission (CEC) a few hours ago warning that if Russian diplomats even attempted to monitor this election they would face immediate arrest—and leading CED director Vasily Likhachev to warn the Obama regime that “the refusal to allow Russian diplomats to perform their direct duties is a demonstrative violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations”.

Stunningly, this report notes, the Obama regimes refusal to allow their presidential election to be monitored by outside diplomats, and their breaking all contact with the CED, came just hours after Donald Trump warned the American people during a nationwide debate with Hillary Clinton that he may not accept the 8 November election results—as he himself has learned how corrupt the United States has now actually become.

With Donald Trump having previously threatened to have a special prosecutor investigate Hillary Clinton’s many crimes once he becomes president, and by extension the Obama regimes covering up of them too, this report says, America’s entrenched elite oligarchy is now living in “total/complete” fear as new and truthful polls being kept from the American peoples knowledge show him on the cusp of winning this election—and as evidenced by new data released in the IBD/TIPP Poll, the Rasmussen Poll, and the Los Angeles Times Daily Tracking Poll.

Most terrifying to these American oligarchs protecting Hillary Clinton, this report continues, is this US presidential election being a near “mirror image” counterpart of Britain’s 23 June Brexit Referendum that the Western elites overwhelmingly predicted would fail—but who were all “stunned into silence” when they lost by an overwhelming vote kicking that nation out of the European Union.

So “dangerously insane” have Hillary Clinton and her oligarchy supporters become in their fear of Donald Trump’s impending victory, this report warns, Wikileaks has revealed that the Clinton campaign was behind the posting on Craigslist of “sexist Trump ads”—and even more astoundingly, new videos have surfaced proving that both Hillary Clinton and President Obama have been secretly orchestrating outright political violence against Donald Trump and his supporters.

In President Putin’s fearing that Hillary Clinton and the oligarchs supporting her, including the Obama regime itself, are capable of starting World War III to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president, this report says, this morning he signed a decree authorizing Federation military nuclear forces to begin practicing to fire their atomic missiles against the Americans and their NATO allies, and further authorized the largest deployment of Russian warships since the end of the Cold War to end the war in Syria in the next fortnight (two weeks)—and to which the Western press is responding in their typical hysterical way by publishing articles foolishly claiming that “iron man Putin is ready to "seize control" of the Mediterranean Sea”.

Far from President Putin, or Russia for that matter, wanting to “seize control” of anything, this report concludes, the Federation’s “only/sole” goal is to end the senseless slaughter in this made up Clinton-Obama war that has gotten so “crazy/insane” that US ally Turkey is now bombing US-backed Kurdish troops fighting ISIS, Belgium warplanes being guided by the US are now bombing innocent civilians, the Obama regime is allowing ISIS terrorists to escape from Mosul (Iraq) instead of killing them, while US-backed terrorists in Syria are shelling civilians trying to leave Aleppo during a ceasefire imposed by Russia.   

To when this madness will all end this report doesn’t say—but if the Hillary Clinton supporting propaganda mainstream media is any indicator, it is no wonder that tens-of-millions of Russians are heading to their bomb shelters—but where are ours?

An appalling new Ministry of Defense (MoD) report circulating in the Kremlin today is warning that the Obama regime backed Republic of Turkey is nearing an outbreak of total civil war after it has begun what can only be described as a mass genocide of its Kurdish population similar to the 1937-1938 Dersim Massacre that killed up to 80,000 of these peoples—and that was so “admired” by Nazi German leader Adolf Hitler, he not only ordered his fascist government to sign a non-aggression pact with Turkey, he, also, used this massacre as his favorite “model” to solve what he called Germany’s “Jewish question”.

While Hitler in his “Jewish question”, this report explains, characterized the effect of a Jewish presence in Germany as a “race-tuberculosis of the peoples”, the Turkish government, likewise, was at the same time laughingly stating “Armenians for lunch, Kurds for supper”—a reference not only to the Dersim Massacre, but to the Armenian Genocide of 1915, which killed 1.5 million, as both of these races of human beings were considered by Turkey, like Nazi Germany did the Jews, as “vermin”.

With Turkey’s Kurdish population being the largest ethnic minority in that country numbering between 14-22.5 million [Note: Turkey forbids an exact census of these people.], this report continues, Turkey considers them a threat—even to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowing recently that he will not allow this Kurdish “threat” to exist either inside or outside his country and stating about them: “You will be annihilated in those houses, those buildings, those ditches which you have dug.”

Backing up this vow, this report notes, Erdogan has not only begun a bombing campaign against the US-backed Kurdish peoples in Syria and Iraq heroically fighting, and dying, against Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/Daesh) terrorist barbarians, he has begun ruthlessly exterminating the Kurdish peoples in his own nation too.

Two of the worst Kurdish cities in Turkey under genocidal seize by Erdogan’s forces, this report grimly states, are Cizre and Silopi whose nearly 200,000 inhabitants are nearing death due to the 3 month long cutoff of all electricity, phone service, food and water while at the same they under constant bombardment—a grave situation that has led to Cemil Bayik, co-chair of the Union of Kurdish Communities' (KCK) executive council, to warn: “We are heading to the establishment of a revolutionary resistance front with the participation of organizations that will come from inside and outside of Turkey.”

With the KCK and other Kurdish groups, including the much feared Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) within Turkey having ended their cease-fire with Erdogan’s forces once this genocidal action against them began, this report further notes, many experts are now expecting Turkey to be fully engulfed in civil war soon—including noted Turkish journalist and former military officer Metin Gurcan who has warned: “The PKK (and its allies) have only one ace to play to break the siege: It must transfer the clashes to western Turkey to ease the pressure it's under in the southeast.”

Not just from journalist Gurcan are warnings’ coming either, this report continues, but from the Turkish government itself too which is, likewise, stating that “were one step away from civil war”.

And as Turkey has now blocked their border with Iraq stranding up to 10,000 Kurdish peoples from returning to their besieged homes and families [Note: thousands of Turkish Kurds work in Iraqi Kurdistan oil fields], MoD experts in this report warn, Iraq’s new threat of war against Turkey, unless it removes its troops that illegally invaded, is bringing this already dire and grave situation to the boiling point—especially with this coming after the bombshell revelations last week of the Obama regimes support of the Islamic State and Turkey’s arrest of two of its top generals who stopped a CIA weapons shipment to Islamic State terrorists from crossing into Syria from Turkey. 

In confronting the Turkish governments genocide of the Kurdish peoples that will soon engulf that entire NATO nation in civil war, this report concludes, the Islamic State supporting Obama regime still insists that Turkey is their “strong ally”—but to which President Putin, who has long tired of the lies from both Obama and Erdogan, has no illusions about and has thrown Russia’s considerable weight onto the side of these starving and oppressed peoples—after all, with Obama having broken his promise for 7 straight years to officially recognize the American Genocide committed by Turkey, how much defense will he exert to keep the same thing from happening now to the Kurds?

At the height of the Cold War, it was common for American conservatives to label the officially atheist Soviet Union a “godless nation.”

More than two decades on, history has come full circle, as the Kremlin and its allies in the Russian Orthodox Church hurl the same allegation at the West.

“Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a recent keynote speech. “Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan. This is the path to degradation.”

In his state of the nation address in mid-December, Mr. Putin also portrayed Russia as a staunch defender of “traditional values” against what he depicted as the morally bankrupt West. Social and religious conservatism, the former KGB officer insisted, is the only way to prevent the world from slipping into “chaotic darkness.”
