Why wear RED on Friday, February 2, 2007?
This Nationwide campaign raises the awareness, education and prevention of heart disease.  Did you know that one in three women will die from heart disease, which is the #1 killer of women and men?  The risk rises in middle ages and can even strike people in their 30?s & 40?s. Two thirds of women who have heart attacks will never fully recover.

In a single year        42,000  women died from breast cancer
29,900  men died from prostate cancer
64,000  women died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
60,713  men died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
68,000  women died from lung cancer
90,121  men died from lung cancer
100,000  women died from a stroke
62,622  men died from a stroke
461,152  women died from cardiovascular disease
410,365  men died from cardiovascular disease
