MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A suspicious package left on a Miami-Dade County transit bus was detonated after its owner failed to come back to retrieve it.
Police said a rider left an orange backpack on the bus on Saturday, but never returned to claim it.
Officials evacuated the area near Washington Avenue and 17th Street. A bomb squad unit responded to the scene and safely detonated the package.
