ISLAMABAD: Earthquake aftershocks measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale were felt in the Northern Areas, NWFP, Azad Kashmir and the Federal Capital on Wednesday.

As per details, three successive aftershocks hit the areas of Peshawar, Manhsera, Abbottabad, Batgram, Muzaffarabad, Basham, Shangla, Kohistan, Allai and Islamabad at 5:58 pm.

The shocks sent waves of fear and anxiety among the local people.

Cracks have appeared in many buildings, plazas and houses in the region, it was learnt.

No loss of life was reported till the filing of the report.
